Welcome to the DIGITopen Self-Assessment Tool (SAT)!

This tool has been designed to support Third Sector Organizations (TSOs) and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in evaluating their current level of digital capacity and identifying priority areas for growth. Rooted in the DIGITopen methodology and aligned with the European DigComp framework and the DIGITopen Open-Source Digital Toolkit, this tool is your first step toward achieving digital autonomy through open and collaborative solutions. You will be guided through a series of simple questions. These questions are mapped to key thematic areas such as general digital readiness, open-source tool adoption, as well as cybersecurity, project management, and digital outreach through the use of open-source tools.

Cybersecurity framework	A structured reference outlining standards, procedures, and best practices to protect digital systems and data.
Data backup	The process of copying and storing digital data to prevent loss due to hardware failure, human error, or cyberattacks.
Data security	Technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.

Emerging technologies	Innovative new technologies with the potential to transform business and society, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, IoT, and augmented reality.
IT infrastructure	The combination of hardware, software, networks, and services that support an organization’s digital operations.
OSS Trends	Trends and innovations in the open-source software world, helping organizations understand adoption opportunities and technological developments.
Proprietary tools	Software and tools with closed source code, owned by a company, requiring licenses for use and restricting modification or distribution.
Processes automation	The use of digital tools to automate repetitive tasks, improving efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
Protection policy	A set of organizational rules and guidelines to safeguard data, systems, and digital information, ensuring security and compliance.
Self-Assessment Tool (SAT)	A tool used by organizations to evaluate their digital skills, identify strengths and weaknesses, and guide training and digital transformation efforts.
Secure password management tool	A tool for generating, storing, and managing strong passwords securely, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
